Meloni, question time in the Chamber: "We have no intention of recalling the ambassador to Tel Aviv"

Meloni, question time in the Chamber: "We have no intention of recalling the ambassador to Tel Aviv"
Security, Meloni: "Support for agents, sometimes insulted as second-class workers"

The League's question during the premier time "allows me to take stock of the government's action in support of the police and firefighters, men and women who are at the service of others and the national community without fear, if necessary, of risking their lives, men and women like you recalled who however at times have been treated like second-class workers, when not even insulted for the job they did. I remember that when I called the union representatives of the defense, security and public rescue sector to Palazzo Chigi on the contract renewal I was struck by the discovery that I was the first Prime Minister who directly confronted those who represent our men and women indivisible. It seemed obvious to me but evidently it wasn't and it is perhaps also a sign of the lack of attention, of the lack of care that politics has had in the past towards the sector". This was said by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni. "Ours - continued the prime minister - is a different choice and it is a choice that we tell with facts. In these two and a half years we have not limited ourselves to ritual formulas, to pats on the back, which are also important, but we have always expressed our commitment with concrete choices. We started from the priorities, we took care of strengthening the organic resources, we started an extraordinary plan of hiring on a multi-year basis that has allowed us to hire so far over 30,000 new agents divided into the various police forces and about 5,000 new firefighters. We have taken care of guaranteeing more dignified salaries, allocating a billion for the renewal of the contract that expired in 2021 and the funds for the subsequent two contracts".

Meloni recalled that "the contract was signed last December and provides for an average increase in the paycheck between 100 and 120 euros net per month. The Government has also paid maximum attention to the Fire Brigade. Also in terms of resources, over 4,000, it is writing the legislative decree for the reorganization of the Corps. But we have not dealt with the working conditions of men and women in uniform only from a contractual point of view. We have dealt with it, if we want, from an even more important point of view. That is, the respect that is due to those who decide to wear a uniform. To put their life at risk so that ours can be safer. So with pride we have increased the penalties for those who attack agents, soldiers, Fire Brigade. We have provided for them specific legal protection. Those who should be investigated or accused for facts related to the service will be able to continue working. The State will cover their legal costs up to a maximum of 10,000 euros for each phase of the procedure. It is a rule that I consider sacrosanct. And then the bodycams, the tasers to guarantee the safety of the agents, improve their operations".

Boschi: "Beyond 'Meloniland' things are going badly. From inflation to tax pressure, everything is rising except wages"

"President, you love to tell a fairytale Italy" but the data: "from fiscal pressure to inflation" say otherwise and there are "191 thousand Italians who left our country last year: everything is going up except salaries and pensions. Outside the magical world of Meloniland and things are worse". This was said by the leader of Iv in the Chamber Maria Elena Boschi in her question to Giorgia Meloni during the premier time.

Security: Meloni: "13,500 law enforcement units ordered to be sent to territories"

"I am happy to announce that the Government has arranged for the dispatch of over 13,500 units including carabinieri, police and financial police to increase security in the territories, in addition to approximately 3,000 firefighters". This was stated by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, responding during the Prime Minister's time in the Chamber to the question of the leader of the League, Riccardo Molinari, on the initiatives to protect the police force and the public rescue sector.

Auto: "Meloni, with Merz comparison for industry relaunch"

"With the start of Chancellor Merz's mandate, we have already begun to discuss how Italy and Germany, the two main manufacturing powers in Europe, can together make a concrete contribution to the relaunch of our industry, first and foremost the automotive sector. It is a dialogue that has already begun and I am very confident about it." This is what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, in the Chamber at Prime Minister's time. "It is now clear to everyone - she added - that in a phase of instability in international markets, it is even more fundamental to remove the internal rates that undermine European competitiveness and that the time has come to decisively reverse the fight. It is certainly clear to us because this is what businesses and our workers are asking for and because this is what European citizens reiterated with their vote almost a year ago now."

"We continue to believe that it is wrong on an industrial level but also on a geopolitical level to follow only the transition towards electricity whose supply chains are today largely controlled by China. We are less and less alone in these battles, last March we managed to insert for the first time the principle of technological neutrality in the conclusions of the European Council", the Prime Minister recalled.

Cars and energy transition, Meloni: "Wrong to focus only on electric, growing consensus on Italian proposals"

"An excessively ideological vision has proven dramatic for European competitiveness: the Commission itself has initiated several corrective measures with a more pragmatic approach that Italy has helped to impose, for example on the steel industry, chemicals, energy; we have presented thematic non-papers, on which we are finding growing consensus". This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the questions for immediate response in the Chamber, adding that "a decisive simplification of the regulatory framework of the green deal is needed". As regards the automotive sector, "fines for car manufacturers have been effectively suspended to interrupt the spiral that has seen production plants close and green quotas purchased by non-EU competitors: the emblem of Timmermans' failure, a monument to industrial desertification for which someone will have to pay the price". Furthermore, Meloni added, "it is essential to remove internal duties that undermine European competitiveness".

Israeli-Palestinian war, Meloni responded to Bonelli (Avs): "We have no intention of withdrawing the ambassador to Tel Aviv"

The prime minister responds to the deputy of the Green and Left Alliance Angelo Bonelli, starting with the commitments that Italy has made for humanitarian support in Gaza. “In Gaza the situation is increasingly dramatic and unjustifiable, we do not agree with many of the choices of the Israeli government . We reiterate that Israel has responded to a precise plan of isolation desired by terrorists. We will continue to work for the cessation of hostilities, for the release of Israeli hostages and to open up a process that leads to the two-state solution and we recognize the role of Arab leaders in the region. It is not Italy's intention to recall the Italian ambassador to Israel,” Meloni said.

Bonelli replied: "Shame on you, you don't have the courage to condemn the government of Israel"

The Prime Minister announces her intention to set up a cross-party working group on youth distress

Giorgia Meloni opened the session by announcing her desire to establish a cross-party working group on issues related to youth distress. The prime minister invited everyone to suggest roles and needs for a group that is committed to addressing the scourge of the crisis of the new generations, including suicides and social withdrawal.
